Karen Pfeiffer of Carmel uses the ancient art of Mokume' Gane in these stretching cat earrings. She takes layers of sterling silver and copper and fuses them under high heat until they bond into one metal. The metal is then hammered and rolled many, many, many times until the metal is 1/2" thick and then sliced to produce a striped pattern.
